Today

The readiness score, what it is built from, and the launcher that turns it into a session.

Today is the screen you open in the morning. It answers one question: what should today be? Everything on it is there to answer that, and you can reorder or hide the cards from the Customize sheet.

The readiness score

The card at the top is your readiness for the day. It is built from your sleep (when Health is connected), your check-ins (how you feel, how sore you are, whether anything hurts) and the load of your recent sessions. Tap it for the why sheet: every input, and how far each one moved the number. A low score is not a verdict on you; it is the app saying that today's session should be shaped differently.

Under it, the CNS fatigue indicator tracks how much heavy, nervous-system-taxing work you have done recently and how recovered you are from it. Tap it for the detail.

The launcher

The launcher card is the door into training. It names today's session from your program, or offers to generate one when you have no program, and it reads your readiness out loud: on a rough day it offers a Lighter version alongside the normal one. Nothing is locked. Start session always works, and rest is a suggestion, never a button you cannot press. Chapter 4, Starting a session, covers what happens when you tap it.

What else is on the page

  • Next up: your cardio and mobility tracks, if you turned them on. A mobility session is a short, joint-first routine you can run from here on a rest day or after lifting.
  • Rotation: when your program rotates sessions rather than pinning them to weekdays, this card shows what comes next.
  • Same-day adjustment: when something changed since the plan was written (a short night, a flagged joint), a banner says what the app changed in today's session and why.
  • Program: where you are in the block, week by week. When a block ends, the card offers the next one.
  • Prompts: the app asks at most one plain question when it needs one. Swap a trainer day for a template because the coach cancelled. Take a deload because the signs have stacked up. Adjust the program at the week three to four check-in. Answer the weekly feedback prompt.
  • Fuel today: calories and macros so far against the target, with the day's insights.
  • Ready Weeks: a week is Ready when you followed the plan and logged your meals. The row keeps your Training, Fuel and Ready streaks.
  • Recent wins and milestones, a recovery nudge when you need one, and a habits card if habits are on.

Also reachable from Today

  • Readiness dashboard: the score over time, with the inputs.
  • Report an activity: describe something you did in plain words (a run, a ruck, a game, a long hike). The app asks one or two follow-ups, turns it into a completed cardio workout, and writes it to Health.
  • Sleep debt: how far behind you are on sleep and how much it is costing readiness.
  • Joint health: the flags, triage and trends for anything that hurts. Chapter 8, When life gets in the way, covers it.

Last thing

The screens read better with your numbers in them.

Everything in this guide is on the phone, with your readiness, your lifts and your food in place of the examples.
