In the workout

Logging sets, what the numbers mean, Why this?, and everything behind the layers and the three dots.

The set row

Each exercise lists its sets: warm-ups marked W, then working sets with a prescribed weight and reps. Tap a row to edit it: weight, reps, and effort, how close to failure the set was. For dumbbells and other per-side loads the row shows the weight per side, because that is the number on the plate in your hand; the app stores the total. Log set confirms the row. Repeat logs the same set again. Add set adds one. Rows you edited are marked, so you can tell your numbers from the app's.

Prescriptions and Why this?

Every working set has a prescription: the weight and reps that match today's readiness, your recent history of the lift and where you are in the block. Tap Why this? under the exercise for the reasoning in a sentence or two. After each set you log, the remaining sets are re-planned from what you just did. Go heavier than prescribed and the app notes it and adjusts the rest of the sets. Miss reps, or rate a set much harder than planned, and the next set drops rather than repeating a miss. The honest number is the useful one, so log what happened, not what was planned.

Behind the layers button

  • Exercise info and history: what the exercise is, how to do it, and your last sessions of it.
  • Swap: substitutes that match the movement pattern and the equipment in your gym profile. Swap a whole superset at once, or reorder and remove exercises.
  • Setup tags: name a setup on a machine or cable, such as Pad or Seat 4. Records and start weights are then kept per setup, so a new attachment does not pollute the history of the old one.
  • Plate calculator: the plates per side for a weight, using your gym profile's bar and plates.

Behind the three dots

  • Rest timer: starts when you log a set, with group rest for supersets.
  • Voice logging: say the set and it is logged.
  • AI assist and Second opinion: ask for a change to the session in plain words, or ask why a prescription is what it is and get an alternative.
  • Session time limit: tell the app you have forty minutes and it trims the session to fit, keeping the work that matters most.
  • I'm at a different gym: reshape the session to the equipment here.
  • Minimize: the workout keeps running under the tabs. On iOS it also lives on the lock screen and in the Dynamic Island, and the Apple Watch app follows along.

Finishing

End opens the pain check (anything new, anything worse) and the check-in (how it felt, a rating). Then the summary: the sets, the volume, any records with a share card, the muscles you hit today, milestones, and what the next session will look like. Save as template keeps the session for next time. The workout is written to Health.

Last thing

The screens read better with your numbers in them.

Everything in this guide is on the phone, with your readiness, your lifts and your food in place of the examples.
